Gorman's Green

Part of our commitment to the community means being a responsible partner to the environment.  Going green has become a national phenomenon in recent months and Gorman’s is proud to say that we are at the forefront of this movement.

By using several different waste saving techniques, so far we have been able to reduce our overall corporate waste by 75% from 160 cubic yards of waste in 2 weeks to 40 cubic yards.

Since we installed energy-reducing equipment at our Southfield store, we've seen a reduction in overall wattage use by 50%.  We will be looking at employing the same technology in our other showrooms shortly.  We have also seen a 25% savings in our warehouse by using T5 and T8 lights.

In our ongoing efforts we are currently analyzing how we can begin recycling our foam products, which will ultimately reduce our waste as well.
